Huichol Indian Beaded Art
Approximately 18,000 Huichol Indians live in the Sierra Madre mountains of central Mexico. For centuries these spiritual people have been beading decorative items to use as offerings to the gods. The indians spead a mix of beeswax and sap over the surface then press the beads in one at a time, using a long needle.
